Prevent delegated approvals from creating circular workflows

If a user has delegated their approval to another user who is the previous approver in the sequence, the system does not allow approval to continue.

e.g. Approver 2 has delegated their authority to Approver 1, Jobpac sees Approver 1 has already approved and the approver is out of sequence, so the second approval cannot take place and the workflow stalls.

It would be good to have a feature that prevents this circular approval from being initiated.

    Will do. For clarity, this is when the delegation is set at a system level, not during the approval process.

    Hi Nick,
    Could you please log that as an Case/issue. You should not be able to
    delegate to a user who is already in the approval chain and if this happens
    some how there needs to be a way to prevent the process stalling.
    We will consider exactly how we do this as with further analysis on the
    issue. In your example please indicate how the delegation was applied.
