In other programs I have had the ability to apply credits to specific invoices - via a credit register. They have also had a function where a message would pop up that I have outstanding credits in the system if I select that creditor for payment.
Due to the way in which we select invoices for payment - using filters for dates and various projects (PTAs) - we have found it is really easy to accidentally pay a creditor's invoices, without select their corresponding credits as well - effectively overpaying them. It's very time consuming to manually review by each creditor - especially when we have currently have 8 PTA accounts for which we need to prepare separate payment batches.
This suggestion is for AP - but would also be useful in AR.
