Hide/Disable Schedule of Rates Option when setting up a new S/C agreement
Current Challenge: Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts provide necessary flexibility, but they introduce significant challenges in tracking “cost to complete.” This occurs because authorised amounts can exceed the original contract sum/commitment, especially when there is no reporting mechanism to distinguish Lump Sum agreements from SOR agreements. As a result:
Cost forecasting becomes unreliable.
Contract administrators often resort to creating variations (including negative variations) to reconcile amounts.
Identifying and correcting incorrectly set up SOR contracts is extremely difficult once multiple progress claims have been posted.
Current Workaround: We encourage contract administrators to use a “forecasted amount” when setting up SOR agreements. However, this relies heavily on user discipline and experience, and errors are common among new or inexperienced Jobpac users.
Expected Outcome:
Improve cost-to-complete accuracy.
Reduce reliance on manual reconciliation.
Minimise errors from inexperienced users.
Provide better visibility and control for project managers and financial controllers.
