GL Account/Budget/Forecast upload streamlined

There seems to be overlap that I find confusing about various menus/programs that deal with GL Account Maintenance, Budget & Forecast. I would like the whole process simplified so there is one place (and only one place) to do each of the following:

  • Add/Amend Accounts details (but no values). Showing actuals and budget is great, but don't want to be able to modify here.

  • Input Budget figures (for any periods, ie Current Year or Future Years)

  • Input Forecast figures (for any periods, ie Current Year or Future Years)

  • Download a 12 Monthly report showing either a) only budget b) forecast or c) some combination of actual and budget or actual and forecast.

At the moment in the GUI:

  • 2.4.1.1.1 Maintain GL Accounts lets you a) Add/Amend account names but also current year budget. The upload MUST have budget numbers otherwise it over-writes the existing budget figures with nil

  • 2.4.6.1 Maintain Budget lets you maintain and upload budgets for Current Year or Future Year

  • 2.4.6.6 Upload Forecast/Budget seems to let you only upload a budget AND forecast for CY or FY?

  • There is nowhere to download the 12 month budget to check it reconciles to what you expect to have imported, or to amend one or two fields and then upload again. This is especially difficult when wanting to download a report for a Future Year budget - you can't do this at all (even for a single month!) until you've rolled into the first period in the new FY.

    Hi Suzzanne,
Agree we need this as standard. Currently you could build a Jobpac BI
report to give you this information in download format.
    cheers

The ability to download the 12 month budget would be great. I can't believe there's currently now way to do that.

    Hi Alex,
Another great Idea. It would be fantastic to consolidate these functions
that have evolved over time in as you describe, perhaps not the most
congruous fashion. I feel that we have a few priorities before this one at
the moment but I really enjoy your ideas for future roadmap thinking. Keep
    em coming Alex!
thanks v much for your interest in product direction.
