We at Viewpoint sincerely thank you for your contribution to Suggestion Box on how we can improve Viewpoint products. While we can’t do everything at once, we rely upon your feedback to help guide the prioritization of our product improvements, and Suggestion Box is a critical tool for us to understand and prioritize our customers’ needs.

Hi Shelbie,
I have been tracking votes on that suggestion since we removed the option
for technical and security reasons 2 years ago. This was part of SOC2
Compliance which is a high-level security audit standard. We found that
only 2 or 3 customers out of our 280 customers used the accelerator
commands, so you are correct that it has not had the same priority as some
of our other roadmap priorities. However, I recognise the value of the old
feature and would like to implement a similar feature in the new UI. As
mentioned it is likely to be medium term.
thanks
Andrew
Thanks Andrew, I know the same sort of request was asked about 2 years ago (MAY 2019, Bring Back the Shortcut Box in WUI) and no action had been taken since. User experience is important, if the request from 2 years ago has had no movement do you think my request will bump that along a bit faster?
Thanks
Shelbie
thanks for your feedback. I think we probably will get to this in the
medium term. User experience is important to us and if there is a way we
can make you more efficien,t we want to do it. We just need to figure out
how to deliver the same or better experience with the newer architecture.
This won't be very near term but I think we will move in this direction.
Stay tuned.
cheers
Andrew
I mean, it would solve the problem of getting the right reports into the favourites column, however the favourites column just seems to grow and then it is hard to find the one you want when scrolling through. Quick keys function is definitely more user friendly than the favourite options.
Thanks
Shelbie
thanks Shelbie,
As a follow up question, would it solve the problem if the menu options
were named appropriately in the favourites so you knew which TB you were
running, for example?
thanks
Andrew
Hi Andrew, yes I am using the favourites but they don't achieve the same outcome. eg: Trial balance can be 3 different reports (AP trial balance, AR trial balance & the actual Trial Balance of all accounts) and even if you save as a favourite it still doesnt tell you which trial balance you are running. Where as the Quick keys "TB" would give you the actual trial balance. The same issue happens with "enquiry" when the quick key would allow "AP" and take you right where you need to be.
Hi Shelbie,
Out of interest are you using the Web User Interface where you can set up
your own favourites? Or are you using the old Jobpac Classic Interface?
Andrew
