Upload Classification tables for cost and depreciation

At the moment when setting up Assets one has to manually input the classification tables for both cost and depreciations. This is all very tedious and time consuming. It took 3 solid days to input the additions details and is taking for ages with the depreciation details. All the must be repeated for each WID.

An alternative has been suggested that when you upload assets that the depreciation details are added, but this does not work due to variable rates used in the history.

HI, there are so many different depreciation rates that I agree, it would be helpful to have an upload for asset overrides. It's not really practical to set up asset classification types. Thanks, Jess

    Hi Susan,
I asked the question to the team and this is the response. Forgive my Asset
knowledge is not fantastic so I am passing on this info as wrote. It feels
like there are a couple of things to improve/speed up the process outlined
    below.
    cheers
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
    1. For Classification Costs, no not at all.
    2. For rates, perhaps. Explained below.

You would have to see exactly where they are at, 'setting up Assets' seems
to imply a new Work ID or new Assets. The for Asset upload, more
specifically the depreciation upload, the values (Classification Depn
Rates) are automatically setup when you are using the depreciation upload.
It takes the first value for Book and Tax that it encounters as the default
rate for the Classification. So if Asset AAA has a class of ABC, 123,
000,000 and a rate of 20% then that is what the default rate for that class
will be set at. If there are others of that class in the load on that have
a different rate (rare but possible) then they will be set up as Overrides.

    Does that make sense?

So they need to add the Resp, Cat, Group and Sub groups. Then load the
uploads and the rates will be done.

*ALSO We could also do it as a file transfer pretty easy as a paid service
if they wish to supply the data in a spreadsheet. Depn is very easy. Costs
I assume also but have never done that before.*

    *Regards*
